On 24 February, the CEO and Board of Trustees of Ukraine Relief, together with philanthropic supporters of the charity, attended a solemn remembrance service at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Holy Family in Mayfair, London.

The service marked the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and was a moment of reflection, solidarity, and prayer for all those affected by the ongoing war. Among the distinguished speakers addressing the congregation was General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, former Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, whose presence offered a powerful reminder of the courage and resilience of the Ukrainian people.

Following the service, representatives of Ukraine Relief held a working meeting with General Zaluzhnyi at the Ukrainian Embassy in London. Discussions focused on the current security situation in Ukraine and the ongoing humanitarian needs, which, regrettably, remain severe.

Particular concern was raised about the pediatric department of the National Cancer Institute of Ukraine, which is facing acute challenges. To address this, a meeting has been arranged between the department’s head and Ukraine Relief’s CEO during the charity’s upcoming trip to Kyiv.

General Zaluzhnyi expressed his gratitude to those present, thanking them for their unwavering support for Ukraine during these most difficult times.
