
Ukraine Relief Patron and Ambassador Richard Adlem MBE, aged 93, has completed an extraordinary 1,500-mile journey to Ukraine, driven by his lifelong commitment to supporting children affected by war.

ium No. 2 in Chervonohrad (recently renamed Sheptytskyi), a school serving 240 children. Determined to see firsthand the impact of the charity’s work, he met pupils and staff and witnesse

During the visit, Ukraine Relief, in partnership with Intersport Ukraine, delivered sports equipment worth several thousand pounds, providing valuable resources and much-needed moments of joy. Every child also received sweets — a small gesture that brought big smiles. Beyo
nd immediate donations, Ukraine Relief is supporting vital school renovations, including upgrades to the sports hall, helping to create a safer, more positive learning environment for pupils.
Reflecting on the visit, Richard said: “Children are my main concern. I will continue supporting them through Ukraine Relief for as long as I am alive. And even after I am gone, Ukraine Relief will carry on this mission.” His journey is a powerful reminder of Ukraine Relief’s unwavering commitment to standing with Ukrainian children — not only through words, but through action, presence and compassion.
